The AACN Progressive Care (PCCN) Self-Assessment
Examination (SAE) is a 50-item online practice examination that proportionally
matches the content, cognitive levels, and difficulty of the AACN PCCN
Examination. Although the content coverage is not as broad (this practice exam
is only 50 questions, whereas, the PCCN exam is 100 scored items), it is still intended to
reflect the knowledge required of a progressive care nurse. The SAE was
developed by the PCCN SAE Committee and can help you prepare for the
Certification Examination. It is an excellent study tool for certified
practitioners and anyone interested in measuring or improving performance.
The SAE is a tool for preparation to take the PCCN
certification exam. It also may be used once during a renewal period by current
PCCNs as one measure of continued competence. If you are a current PCCN and you
pass the SAE with a score of 70% or greater, you may use 12 Category A CERPs
(Continuing Education Recognition Points) toward your renewal. Keep your score
report as CERP documentation should you be audited.
The SAE may be accessed as many times as you like, 24 hours a day, for 90 days from the time of purchase. Once you select either of the ‘finish buttons’ to score the SAE, you will not be able to view the questions again. You will only be able to view your performance online. You will receive your score report and mastery report via email.
This web test requires:
-
An HTML 4.0 compatible browser such as Internet Explorer with"cookies enabled".
An HTML capable email account for
delivery of instructions and feedback reports.
After you successfully place your web test order, you will
be sent a confirming email with a link to the SAE and your private password.
The PCCN SAE is not intended to replace studying for the Certification
Examination. It should not be inferred that performance on the SAE will exactly
replicate performance on the Certification Examination.
