The WOCNCB Foot and Nail Care Self-Assessment Examination is a learning tool for registered nurses who plan to take the Foot and Nail Care Examination. The items (questions) in the SAE were carefully developed by the WOCNCB Foot and Nail Care Examination Committee so that the test takers could see how well they might perform on the actual WOCNCB Foot and Nail Care Examination. Although the Examination Committee wrote the content for the SAE and made every effort to ensure the items are similar to the real exam questions in their level of difficulty, not all of the SAE items have been previously used in any WOCNCB examination. Therefore, the WOCNCB cannot guarantee that the difficulty level will be identical to that of an actual exam.
About the content of the SAE
The SAE includes 40 items in the section of Foot and Nail Care, while the actual exam will have 80 scored items plus pretest items.
Content for the questions was based on the WOCNCB's Practice Analysis, a survey of WOCNCB certificants that details the knowledge and procedures nurses regularly use to effectively treat their patients.
The SAE and the actual WOCNCB exam both represent a comparable sampling of question topics that are culled from a much larger pool of potential topics that would be appropriate for the practice of foot and nail care nursing.
Your individual results will remain confidential. Aggregate scores may be reviewed by WOCNCB to evaluate the usefulness of the SAE.
